- stephiedElton John · Sat, Nov 19, 2022“What an epic night! I got to see Elton John for the second time, this time at Dodger Stadium on his farewell tour. It was his second-to-last show in the US, ever. Since we were at Dodger Stadium, I ordered sequined Dodger uniforms for Josh and me, modeled after Elton's famous Bob Mackie costume from his legendary 1975 Dodger Stadium shows. I convinced Josh that everyone would be dressed up (I 100% believed this). He wasn't sold on the idea, right up until we got to the stadium and everyone wanted to take pictures with us. "Candle in the Wind" was absolutely stunning. The entire crowd hushed to listen. Set my frisson off for sure. "Sad Songs (Say So Much)" and "Crocodile Rock" both rocked my sequined socks off. He didn't play "Crocodile Rock" the first time I saw him and I was waiting for it the entire time (Paloma had never heard the song and thought I was crazy). Main set Good Morning to the Night (intro, played from tape) Bennie and the Jets Philadelphia Freedom I Guess That's Why They Call It the Blues Border Song (dedicated to Aretha Franklin) Tiny Dancer Have Mercy on the Criminal Rocket Man Take Me to the Pilot Someone Saved My Life Tonight Levon Candle in the Wind Funeral for a Friend / Love Lies Bleeding Burn Down the Mission Sad Songs (Say So Much) Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me (dedicated to band members he's lost) The Bitch Is Back I'm Still Standing Crocodile Rock Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting Encore Cold Heart (PNAU remix) Your Song Goodbye Yellow Brick Road”
