This man has the voice of an angel! I knew he'd be good, but I didn't expect him to blow everyone else I've seen live away like he did. His opener, Sekou, was also fantastic. Such a fun way to start the show. This was my first trip back to the Castro theater since the $41M renovation and my biggest takeaway is that... they took out all the seats? So we were unexpectedly standing for 2 hours with Josh's mom. A big ask! And yet, the show made the time fly and we all barely noticed our barking dogs. Sam Smith came out looking like a pirate and seemed overjoyed to be performing. Spinning in circles, soaking up the love from the crowd, the whole bit. But the best bit? That would be discovering the Sam Served instagram handle. It looks like this started during his residency in SF and has now expanded worldwide. HELLO PIGGIES, FELLOW PIGGIES. Oh what I would give to share a decadent meal with that man! Easily the best voice I've seen live.

Sam Smith blew my socks off. Such a diva :) I think he might be the best voice I've ever heard. Really small and quaint venue (no seats?) Super meaningful to enjoy with my mom and sister
